Education and Professional Training
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from York University. In addition to my academic training, I completed the three-year Somatic Experiencing® Professional Training, which deepened my understanding of how trauma is held and healed through the body. I have engaged in Hakomi Therapy training for years to help clients tap into their inner resources and free them from undue and limiting beliefs. I am in ongoing IFS training to help clients develop compassionate relationships with different parts of themselves and move toward greater integration and wholeness.
Clinical Experience
I have accumulated approximately 2,500 hours of community mental health support and nearly 1000 hours of psychotherapy experience, working with teenagers (12+) and adults, immigrants, individuals, couples, and groups. These experiences were primarily gained through organizations such as the Working Women Community Center, the Hongfook Mental Health Association, the Distress Centre of Greater Toronto, the Community Family Services of Ontario, the WellCare Rehab Clinic and the Point Grey Physio Clinic.
Beyond the therapy room
Caring for my own well-being is an important part of how I care for others.
I believe the quality of therapy is influenced not only by professional knowledge, but also by the therapist’s presence.
In my own life, I regularly practice Tai Chi, yoga, meditation, and spend time in nature. These practices help me stay grounded, connected, and emotionally present.
They remind me to slow down, to listen deeply, and to trust the wisdom of the body—values that naturally flow into my work with clients.
